Candidate: Jason Carey

Who are you?

My name is Jason Carey. I work as a Logistics Manager and have been in the related field for 10 years. I have lived in and around Toronto my entire life and currently reside in Scarborough Southwest Ward 35.

Why are you running?

I love Toronto, and I believe, that as a member of city council, I can contribute a great deal to the proper management of this city and its resources.

Making decisions about how this city is to function are the responsibilities of the City Council; decisions that determine our future in this province and in this nation. Past decisions by council have left me asking why? Why do we have a new subway line that goes nowhere? Why does the Allen Expressway end in a residential neighborhood? Why does Toronto have only 2 highways to get us in and out of the city? Why don’t we have a fixed rail link to the Airport? Why don’t we have enough affordable housing that is affordable to the low income earners? Why?

I want more than answers, I want solutions, and so do the people of Toronto. I haven’t seen either from this council or those before it. Toronto needs leaders, and council is the where I have chosen to make my mark, and that is why I am running.

What should a City Councillor be?

Honest to themselves and their constituents, Passionate about their responsibility to the city, Active in their community, Sincere about their judgment and Accountable for their decisions.

We need new leaders.
