Candidate: HiMY SYeD

Who are you?
My name is HiMY, pronounced HiM, ME, as in pronouns. I am an Artist, Activist, Author, Islamic Banker, Photoblogger based in The Annex.

Why are you running?

Early in the 21st Century and we are experiencing the displacement of the city-state with a newer neighbourhood-civilization reality.

It is Toronto's archipelago of 220 plus distinctive neighbourhoods
which need acknowledgement, representation, and a champion.

The current up-for-grabs City of Toronto act seems less concerned with
laying the groundwork necessary in the 21st century for empowering
Toronto's neighbourhoods for this once-in-the-life-of-a-city moment,
than with trying to bandage Toronto's cuts and bruises left by Premier
Harris late in the 20th century.

You elect someone else and you will end up not just with a 416-905
problem, you and all of us will end up with a 416-705 and a 416-519
problem.

You Elect HiMY and the pain will go away.

What should a City Councillor be?

An impatient pragmatic visionary who as a consensus builder empowers Toronto's neighbourhoods to take each of their rightful places within the 'Great Toronto Area'.

Anything else?

Cities are created half by planning and half by accident.

The Megacity has had enough accidents. Toronto's archipelago of 220 plus distinctive neighbourhoods need acknowledgement, representation, and a champion.

If ya elect someone else, and all we get is another city councillor.

You choose HiMY, you get the foundations for the Great Toronto we all
want early in our 21st Century.

We need new leaders.
