Candidate:
Greg Porter

Who
I am and why I'm running.
I am a lifelong resident of the city
who works currently as a financial planner and administrator at a credit
union. I'm a fourth-generation Torontonian, married with one son. I've
been an apartment dweller and a homeowner, a TTC rider and a motorist,
an artist and a banker, and I‚ve lived on both sides of Yonge
Street.
I'm running because I love Toronto and I want to help make improvements
so that my son will love The Big Smoke as much as I do. There are solutions
to the problems in this city, but too often there is no one with the
vision and political will to bring about changes that will ultimately
benefit us all.
A city councillor should be someone who can listen to all sides of a
debate, weigh the positions of all the stakeholders involved and make
decisions that are not only good for now, but sustainable in the long
term. They must take a long view of the health of the city, both physical
and economic, and be willing to put principle above politics to make
the hard choices that will keep Toronto a world-class city.
I know that the multicultural nature of the city gives rise to opposing
points of view, but that a skilled councillor can find compromises and
solutions that will satisfy the needs of all the residents of Canada's
greatest city.

We need new leaders.
