Candidate:
Bahar Aminvaziri

Who are you?
My name is Bahar Aminvaziri and I am 27. I currently work for the Waste
Management Policy Branch of the Ministry of the Environment as an Engineer,
while attending graduate school part-time.
Why are you running for City Idol?
My biggest passions in life are “human rights”,
“multiculturalism” and “sustainability”.
I would like to see Toronto be the number one city in all those categories.
I would like to see “energy conservation” and “waste
minimization” become part of our culture as much as “hospitality”
or “open-mindedness” is. We need to make Toronto the safest
city in the world once again, and wipe out child poverty and homelessness.
One day, I would like to raise a family in a city that has a reputation
for respecting humanity, culture and the environment.
What should a City Councillor be?
First and foremost, a city councillor should be passionate and dedicated.
She/he should have great ambitions for Toronto and have a good understanding
of our bleakest problems such as violence, child poverty and homelessness.
Anything else?
A city councillor
should be compassionate.

We need new leaders.
