Candidate: Angela Rita La Gamba

Who are you?

I'm an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, majoring in History and Urban Geography. I am also a volunteer for AIESEC Toronto and Junior Achievement.


Why are you running?

I'm always reading, thinking and shaking my head at the decisions made at City Hall. I'm running for City Idol because I would like to make a difference to our quality of life and see some action on issues such as the waterfront, creating a cohesive infrastructure and improving public transit service, conservation, and homelessness.


What should a City Councillor be?

A great City Councilor should be passionate, dedicated and accountable to ALL their constituents. Currently, the burgeoning municipality makes it simple for the voices of constituents to get lost in bureaucracy. A City Councilor must have excellent communication and facilitation skills, understand how to navigate City Hall's bureaucracy, know what they stand for and stick to it!
